As previous visitors to this site will know, I’ve been planning a crowdfunding campaign to finance the publication of The Oracles of Troy. I’m glad to say the campaign has now been launched and can be viewed here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1082128542/the-oracles-of-troy.
For anyone who isn’t familiar with the concept crowdfunding, it’s a way of raising support for a creative project by asking sponsors to pledge small amounts of money towards a target amount. In return, sponsors receive “rewards” – usually a copy of the book, CD, film etc being produced. If enough pledges are made to meet the target before the campaign ends, the money is taken and passed to the campaign organiser (in this case me) who then goes ahead with the project. If the target isn’t met, then no money is taken and project dies an ignominious death.
To print, market and distribute 1000 paperbacks and 250 hardbacks – with associated costs – will require £5,500. I’ve given the campaign 31 days to run, ending on Sunday 2nd March. Full details are available on the campaign page, including a list of rewards.
If you’d like a copy of the book (or one of the other rewards on offer) or just want to help me make this possible, please visit the campaign page and make a pledge.
Contact me if you have any questions. Otherwise, many thanks for your support!
